Anxiety:
Anxiety is a natural and common response to stressful or perceived danger situations. People who experience anxiety may feel a variety of physical, cognitive, and emotional symptoms: chest tightness, stomach upset, intense worry and fear, tendency to anticipate the worst, trouble sleeping, etc.
Communication Problems with Loved Ones or Colleagues:
Misunderstandings, difficulty expressing your thoughts, lack of empathy, gestures, facial expressions, or tone of voice may not be aligned with the verbal message, which creates confusion or distrust, you may be distracted or interrupt frequently the other person while speaking, tension or conflict, avoidance or distancing.
Loneliness:
Negative emotions, feeling of isolation, lack of emotional connection, feeling of not being understood, lack of support, impact on mental and physical well-being.
Depression:
Like anxiety, there are physical, cognitive, and emotional symptoms: persistent sadness, loss of interest, feeling of guilt, difficulty concentrating, thoughts of death, changes in sleep or appetite patterns, social isolation, etc.
Problems in Intercultural Families:
Problems in intercultural families include: differences in values and beliefs, language and communication barriers, social norms and expectations, culture shock, family and social pressure and visa and residential problems, among others.
Anger Management:
Feeling anger, anger, or rage is not bad, the problem is how they manifest themselves, these are a reason for consultation when you feel the following symptoms in such a way that it affects your daily life: increased heart rate, excessive sweating, trembling, irritability, feeling of injustice, feelings of resentment, impulse to express anger through aggressive words or violent actions and feeling of regret or guilt after expressing anger inappropriately, among others.
Stress:
Stress is caused by a strenuous circumstance, and it is felt with: muscle tension and pain, frequent headaches, sleep problems, feelings of anxiety, irritability, or nervousness, feeling of emotional overload or inability to relax, constant and excessive worry, negative or catastrophic thoughts, changes in eating, sleep, or physical activity habits, procrastination, or difficulty completing tasks, etc.
My approach
My practice provides a non-judgmental space that upholds strict confidentiality to foster a supportive environment for patients to discover their authentic desires and paths to self-realization, where thinking and feeling are encouraged.
My training is predominantly psychoanalytic, complemented by a variety of therapeutic approaches that promote mental health and well-being. I utilize diagnostic and evaluative techniques to facilitate progress and conflict resolution.
Therapeutic sessions can be conducted in English or Spanish and may be held online via Google Meet, Skype, or WhatsApp, or in person at my office located in Polanco, Mexico City.
About me
I am a psychologist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist, holding a master's degree from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, with a experience in individual, couples, and family therapy. In my view, with a willingness to explore, it is possible to identify and address underlying psychological issues that may not be immediately apparent. My role is to provide supportive guidance and facilitate growth throughout the therapeutic process.
